Born and raised in Leeds, UK. Jason paid his musical dues in the ’80’s in the working men’s clubs and pubs that have spawned so much British talent.
His career has seen him open for Neil Young, Tears For Fears, The Cranberries, John Martyn, Christie Moore and Joe Cocker + many more, at venues such as The London Palladium, The Albert Hall and Glastonbury Festival.
With 6 albums of original songs in his catalogue, Jason plays constantly, at home in California, back in the UK and around the world as a solo entertainer, band and song leader, and with his 2 incredible tribute bands, The Beatroots (Beatles - they don’t wear wigs) and Mad Dogs & The Englishman (9 peice Joe Cocker tribute).
Jason is OC Music Director for the non-profit organization “Music In Common” which brings together youth from diverse backgrounds for songwritng and performance.
Jason has a well regarded show and album of songs from the plays of William Shakespeare. Jason wrote the music and melodies for a dozen songs from The Bard’s plays. The recordings were created with legendary producer Ed Stasium (Ramones et al).
Jason recently wrote 14 songs for a play written by and starring comedienne Rita Rudner, which opened (with Jason as Musical Director and performer) at Laguna Playhouse in September 2018 and ran Off Broadway New York City in July and August of 2019.
During the recent Covid19 pandemic Jason has entertained his fans with a weekly show on Facebook Live, “The Pageant of The Mattress,” (streamed from his guest bedroom). The show, which features his wife, Ava Burton and their dog, Mrs. Pickles. The show starts at 12pm PST and draws viewers from across the globe.
Jason is Cantor/Soloist (song leader) at Temple Isaiah of Newport Beach & Jewish Collaborative of OC. He leads traditional and modern melodies for Sabbath and Holidays. His “Kol Nidré” is legendary.
